After a teaser trailer last week, we now get the first official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer. It’s been twenty years since a live action TMNT film has hit the screen, and comments on the new trailer are very mixed. While some are looking forward to the film, many are expressing their disappointment. As usual, producer Michael Bay detractors are leading the fray.

As for me, I’m still undecided. I do think that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles look cool, but the fact that the movie is made by Nickelodeon worries me. I prefer the more gritty tales told in the comic as opposed to the more kid-friendly cartoon series. In fact, I think that the last TMNT movie didn’t even let them use their weapons at all. The one thing that I took away from the trailer was the constant quick cuts where a thirty second action scene is broken into twenty or so quick cuts, which normally serves to give me a headache.

  1. Megan Fox as April O’Neil? Really? Ugh. April is supposed to be a redhead. A spirited, spunky redhead. Not a boozy, walk-of-shame looking brunette. Sigh. Damn you Michael Bay. Guess he *really* likes the way she washes his cars.

    • I have to agree. I’m not a Megan Fox fan and I do expect movie producers to at least be respectful of the source material. I’ve read many complaints about April O’Neil not being a redhead in the trailer.
