I have to say that I love the following Pac-Man video. It was created by Rich “Lowtax” Kyanka, the founder of Something Awful, and it shows what the Atari 2600 Pac-Man would look like if it was released today. Needless to say, it isn’t pretty. What makes this Pac-Man video spot-on is how it nails the current practices found in gaming today, such as the endless list of achievements, ads for the company’s newly released game, pitches to buy points, installation issues, and so on.

I have to admit I also love the intrusive friend request and the new costume in the game’s store in the Pac-Man video. While extremely funny, it does make me sad to see how low gaming can fall.
