Jul 202015

There are days that are better than others, especially when the mail brings you something good instead of the usual bills and circulars. Today I got my blue Dragon Con registration card in the mail after buying my membership last week. I would have loved to have bought it earlier, but I just never managed to have that last twenty bucks to get it when it was eighty or hundred dollars. Still, I’m pleased as punch to have gotten it, and the con is just a mere six-and-a-half weeks away.

I must admit that the Dragon Con lineup this year isn’t really impressing me that much. I have a couple of friends who are not going due to this, but I love going anyway just to see other geeks enjoying themselves and having the ability to talk with others who share my love of sci-fi and fantasy. Plus, seeing all the amazing cosplay is always worth checking out. I am excited to see Paul McGann attending, and I’ll make sure to get his autograph. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get in the Jim Butcher panel this year as the one last year was full by the time I got there. The panels that I’m interested in seeing this year include Warehouse 13, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Doctor Who, and Sleepy Hollow. There are other panels I intend on checking out too, but I’ll wait and see if the con adds anyone else in the next week or so. Still, today is a happy dance day with the arrival of my blue Dragon Con registration card.
